Nursing Bra FAQs

Can I wear a normal bra while breastfeeding?

You can, but a nursing bra is designed specifically to make breastfeeding easier. Nursing clips allow you to open the cup without removing the whole bra, making feeding much simpler and more convenient.

Do I need a nursing bra before my baby is born?

It's a good idea to have at least one or two ready before your due date, particularly if you want something comfortable to wear in hospital or during those first days with your baby.

Are nursing bras comfortable?

They should be! Look for soft fabrics, adjustable straps and a good fit. Different styles suit different women, so it can be worth trying more than one type to see what works best for you.

Do I need to buy a bigger size for breastfeeding?

Not necessarily. Your size can change during pregnancy and after birth, which is why getting measured and choosing a bra with some flexibility is important.

Can I sleep in a nursing bra?

Some women find a soft, supportive nursing bra more comfortable for sleeping, particularly during the early days of breastfeeding. Look for a style that's gentle, flexible and doesn't dig in.
